Central’s small group program was created to serve both the relational and discipleship needs of the congregation. One important goal identified through the strategic planning process was the development and implementation of a small group program that would serve both the relational and discipleship needs of the congregation.

Central’s small group program consists of two six week sessions which run during the fall and spring. At the end of each session, there is a three week break period to allow our leaders and participants time to catch their breath or transition to another group if they desire. During the summer we offer a four week small group session of more interest and activity focused groups such as bicycling, outdoor adventure (hiking & camping) and many others.

Why Small Groups?
Christian Educators agree, people learn and conceptualize information better in a small group setting. Small groups allow participants and leaders to be more directly engaged with one another.

What is a Small Group?
A Small Group is a group of people (5-12) who gather on a regular basis for the purpose of growing in relationship with God, the church and each other.

Why should I belong to a Small Group?
It is better together! God doesn’t want us to walk the journey alone. In a Small Group, we go through the ups and downs of life with one another, and we learn how to live the life that God desires for us…together.

What do Small Groups study and/or do?
Small Groups use a variety of study materials. Some are Bible study groups; some study Biblically-based books by contemporary authors or spiritual classics, some teach us about concern for God’s creation, some help us manage the stress and frustration of everyday life and some just provide us with a wonderful group of folks to spend time with.
